
DAA, Dale/Morris open new office on Coast

Dale and Associates Architects, P.A. (DAA), which has been working from a temporary office in Biloxi for more than a year, and Dale/Morris Architects, PLLC, has formally opened their new Gulf Coast office on Lameuse Street in Biloxi. The firms now occupy office space in the historic Peoples Bank Building in Biloxi built in 1896. DAA, one of the largest architecture firms in the state, has its main office in Jackson, and has been involved with projects on the Gulf Coast for more than 15 years. Dale/Morris, formed in 2006, is a joint venture of DAA and Morris Architects aimed at assisting in the redevelopment of the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. "We have been actively committed to the Coast for years and are excited about expanding our operations in this area," says firm president T. Doug Dale, AIA. According to DAA, the firm's three partners. Dale, Jeffrey Bames, AIA, and Charles R. Alexander, AIA, have led the firm to plan and design more than 5.9 million square feet on the Coast with construction costs exceeding $1 billion. Bacaran Bay Casino Resort
Biloxi, Mississippi
Dale/Morris is providing full architectural services for the design of a new casino and resort hotel on Caillavet Street in Biloxi, Mississippi. The new Spanish-Mission themed property will include 655 hotel rooms, 445-one and two bedroom condominiums, meeting space and a 40-lane bowling alley suitable for national championships. The resort will also feature an 18-hole Arnold Palmer-designed golf course with driving range and full-service clubhouse.
Other features include a new blues club, spa, salon, fitness center, shopping esplanade, four acres of pool decks including terraces with cabanas, six theatres with stadium-style seating, a 5,000-seat entertainment venue, two wedding chapels, dog hotel, kid's activity center and seven restaurants. There will also be a new 3,300-car parking garage.
